Improved durability
The Saltiga 2020's frame benefits from the latest Daiwa innovations: its Monocoque Body structure in a single symmetrical machined piece gives the reel greater strength. Entirely made of aluminium, the frame is even more solid. The control wheel encapsulated in the frame is wider (46mm) and thicker (8.7mm) than the previous version of the Saltiga (2015), yet lighter thanks to its dura-aluminium G1 composition. To limit erosion, the reel is painted with 5 superimposed layers: anodizing, anti-static paint, primer, paint and varnish. The aluminium Air Rotor is stiffer and more powerful than ZAION carbon, and the pick-up arm is more resistant. On either side of the drive wheel, two MagSealed bearings ensure the Saltiga's fluidity and watertightness. Mag Oil is used in the pick-up's pinion and roller.
For strong fishing with peace of mind
The ATD (Automatic Tournament Drag) brake system is now made up of 14 elements compared with 6 for the Saltiga 2015, making the Saltiga 2020 ten times more powerful and enduring than its predecessor. The brake knob has also been redesigned: its 42% widening makes it even more ergonomic. Like the knob cover and brake collar (two internal components), the brake knob is made of aluminum. This allows heat transfer and evacuation, guaranteeing the fluidity and efficiency of the Saltiga. The sound of the ratchet has been intensified for precise brake adjustment. Ideal for taking on sport fish, the round or oval aluminium handle offers a powerful yet comfortable grip. To maximise fishing pleasure, the Saltiga 2020 is fitted with an LC-ABS (Long Cast) spool for smooth line delivery and reduced risk of wigging. Another practical detail of the Saltiga 2020 is housed in the pick-up whose opening and closing is controlled by a pawl that prevents the rotor from spinning while casting.
A new size scale
To be consistent with smaller spinning reels, the Saltiga 2020 range adopts a new size scale: from 8000 (corresponding to the 4500 size of the Saltiga 2015) to 20 000 (formerly size 8000).
With this new range, the Saltiga pushes the limits of performance even further thanks to the high technologies that equip it. All that's left is for anglers to take it in their hands and beat their record.
